DAYA News Bureau, 18th July 2022: Durgapur’s Roshni Laha secures a possible fourth rank in the country in the ICSE class 10 examinations. Durgapur’s Carmel School student Roshni got 495 out of 500.
Roshni’s fathers is a doctor and mother a nurse. Roshni’s father and mother openly said that due to professional commitment, they could not give special time to their daughter’s studies, and hence all the credit for such a stupendous success goes to the school teachers and home tutors and of course the girl’s dedication. Roshni said, her future goal is to become an engineer.
Roshni, a resident of Durgapur’s Bidhan Nagar, has been a brilliant student since childhood. A student of Durgapur’s Carmel School, Roshni has always done well in exams. But she did not imagine that she would get such a huge success in the secondary examination.
Jubilant Roshni said that she dreams of becoming an engineer with higher education from IIT. Roshni’s doctor father and nurse mother said that they will cooperate as much as possible to fulfill their daughter’s dream.
Genius Roshni doesn’t does not only spends the day engrossed in books. Along with studies, she likes watching movies and playing cricket. Roshni watches movies whenever she gets time between her studies. She doesn’t think that only sitting with books all day will lead to success in exams. Instead, Roshni said that studying regularly and round the clock was the key to her success in the ICSE exam.
Teachers of Durgapur’s Carmel School and the locals are immensely proud of her success.
Roshni’s doctor father Ashish Laha said, “The girl is good at studies from a young age. We never forced her to study. She never studied continuously. She used to watch movies, play games while studying. As a doctor, I never pressured my daughter to study. But the school teachers used to take classes online. They guided her enough. The girl also tried her best. She studied regularly which produced the good result.”
Incidentally, this year’s results of ICSE examination have been really great for Bengal students. 9 students from Bengal have appeared in the top 10. Abhay Kumar Singhania, a student of St. Patrick’s High School, Asansol, and Alia Rafat, a student of AG Church School Asansol, secured first position in the state and second position in the country by securing 498 marks.
