DAYA News Bureau, 6th September 2022: Students of Durgapur MAMC Township Modern High School, on the occasion of Teacher’s Day arranged a very different kind of celebration. Their aim was to gift their teachers a feel of the student life and return them the nostalgia of those days.
The students of the school took the classes of the teachers of their school as a part of Teacher’s Day celebration. The teacher’s too willingly became students and sat on the students’ benches. The students took roll call and one by one took classes on various subjects.
This English medium school of Durgapur, approved by the Board of Secondary Education currently has about 2300 students and about 55 teachers. On this day, the eleventh and twelfth class students played the role of teachers themselves and took the school teachers back to their student life. The teachers are impressed by the idea and actions of the students of the school.
Durgapur MAMC Modern High School Principal Tarun Bhattacharya said, “The students are the future of tomorrow. So if they want to pay respect to us by playing the role of teacher on teacher’s day, then that is the greatest honor. We teachers sat and listened to them teach; we liked it very much. Such an initiative is an unexpected gift to us from the student.”
Class XI student Aritra Das said, “To pay tribute to our teachers, we decided to play their role on this day. This is our gift on Teacher’s Day.” Sutanuka Sinha, a teacher, said, “It feels great. The fact that they have managed these things for us is the most proud thing. It is indeed a very different kind of experience for me and undoubtedly it has given me a lot of satisfaction”.
