DAYA News Bureau 27,th July 2023: Third foundation day of “Jeevanpath-2” center was celebrated on 26th July at the auditorium of “Damodar Recreation Club” located in Sadhudanga field adjacent to Durgapur rail station. Jeevanpath is another indigineous and self styled educational program run by social organization Durgapur Adda Young Association (DAYA)
During the Corona period in 2021, the center’s started its journey on this day in front of the advance ticket booking counter of Durgapur railway station. Now a permanent infrastructure has been erected on the first floor a bus union’s office and is running five days a week. Children aged 6 to 13 years from station area and nearby settlements are given life lessons for 5 consecutive days in the evening from Monday to Friday and a balanced dinner is also provided. Currently the strength of this school stands at 20.
In the second anniversary ceremony, the play performed by the students of this center, “King of Bombagarh” won the hearts of all; based on Sukumar Roy’s poem Raja of Bombagarh, Sunirmal Chakraborty’s play depicts a strange country that we see in our society today. Sarapi A Aa K Kh’s play “Bhagobaner Sondhanay” (In Search of God) gave the message of breaking the blindness of superstition.
Several of the members of Durgapur Adda Young Association also performed and showcased their talent.
