DAYA News Bureau, 14th October 2023: Social organization Durgapur Adda Young Association (DAYA) does not believe in any kind of religious practice but does not deny the frenzy and passion of the Bengali’s about Sharadotsav. On these festive days, in order to bring a smile to the faces of the marginalized families of the society and give them the joy of wearing new clothes Durgapur Adda Young Association organized a new clothes distribution program in two marginalized areas of Durgapur on October 13.
From 11 am in the morning, new clothes were distributed among the old men and women and small children of stone quarry workers of Kamalpur washing plot adjacent to Durgapur Steel Township; lunch were also arranged for each of them. Clothes for 56 boys, saris for 58 women, churidar for 23 women and nightie for one woman were given away as token of love and respect.
In the evening, new clothes were also distributed among the elderly people and small children living in the slums adjacent to Durgapur railway station and food was also arranged for all of them. Clothes were given to 57 children, sarees to 23 women and dresses to 8 men.
A total of 225 people were given new clothes at two different places.
This massive cloth distribution program of Durgapur Adda Young Association has been made possible by the active financial support of many ordinary people; special reagards for all of them.
