DAYA News Bureau, 6th October 2023: Today on 6th October, on the birthday of renowned scientist Meghnad Saha, Durgapur Adda Young Association launched its third Jeevanpath Kendra at Karangapara Sashtitala adjacent to Durgapur Station Bazar.
Jeevanpath Kendra’s are unique initiative of Durgapur Adda Young Association whereby local students are imparted basic knowhow that are so essential for a decent living and make them aware of their own body and the environment.
DAYA has been succesfully running two Jeevanpath Kendra at Kamaplur Washing Plot and Durgapur Rail Station for more than 3 years now.
Eminent skin specialist of the town, Dr. Sharmistha Das, who also happens to be the member of the organization, inaugurated the centre. Jeevanpath – III will presently run two days a week, Monday and Saturday, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm followed by a balanced meal at night; around 22 studnets have already enrolled in this centre. All students were given a cursive writing notebook and a pencil and eraser.
Dr. Sharmistha Das in a short lecture told the children and mothers present there as how to keep themselves healthy.
