DAYA Welcomes Bengali New Year 1429

On the first day of the New Year

Let’s sing the song that will transform the world

Those who sweat on their feet

Should get the respect of their labor and beyond.

With this in mind, the social organization Durgapur Adda Young Association (DAYA) celebrated the Bengali New Year 1429 at all the three center that caters to the need of their 3 different projects.

At 8 o’clock in the morning, the students of organization’s ‘Sinchon’ project   and members of the organization organized an open-stage programme in the children’s park in front of their students home (named Setu). The New Year was welcomed with songs, words, poems, dances and play. People from the locality also poured in to witness the morning event.

From 11:30 am, the students of Jibanpath Kendra 1, situated in Kamalpur Washing Plot, adjacent to Durgapur steel Township along with members of the organization welcomed the new year 1429 with songs and poems. The students there were served with a special lunch menu.

At 6 o’clock in the evening, the students of Jibanpath Kendra – 2, situated at Durgapur Railway Station along with members of the organization, welcomed the New Year 1429 with songs, poems, dances and instrumental music in an open stage programme at the Bus Stand. Large audiences gathered to witness the programme. The students there were served with a special lunch menu.

The daylong programme was a learning experience for all the students and members of the organization.
