DAYA Organizes Second Annual Sports and Get-Together

DAYA News Bureau, 29th January 2024: With great enthusiasim, social organization Durgapur Adda Young Association (DAYA) held its second Annual Adda and Sports on 28th January at Rajiv Gandhi Mela Maidan of Durgapur Steel Township.

Over 100 students from Durgapur Adda Young Association run 3 Jeevan Path centers and Sinchon initiative, family members of these students, members of the organization and their families took part in this day long program. Presence of more than 200 people gave the whole program, the form of a festival.

50 Metre Flat Race for Kids

A total of 18 events were organized. Prizes for these events are sponsored by the members; the first prize is given in memory of DAYA member Mrs. Reba Mukherjee’s late husband Manoj Chowdhury, the second prize has been sponsored by another member Mrs. Shamita Adhurya in memory of his late aunty Bela Trivedi and the third prize has been sponsored by another member, Tuhin Dutta in memory of his late father Gora Chand Dutta.

Prize Being Given Away

For boys and girls (combined) of height less than three and a half feet:

(1) In the 50m flat race category, Riju of Jeevanpath-3 Kendra was first, Radhika (small) of Jeevanpath-1 Kendra was second and Neelkanta of Jeevanpath-3 Kendra was third.

(2) Radhika (small) of Jeevanpath-1 Kendra was first in the 50m spoon-marble race, Shivani of Jeevanpath-1 Kendra was second and Ritwik of Jeevanpath-1 Kendra was third.

(3) In the 50m single leg race category, Tanu of Jeevanpath-1 Kendra stood first, Gunjan of Jeevanpath-1 Kendra came second and Neelkanta of Jeevanpath-3 Kendra came third.

Prize Giving Ceremony

For boys between three and a half to four feet ten inches in height:

(1) In the 50m flat race category, Vijay of Sinchon Prayas came first, Shyamaprasad of Sinchon Prayas stood second and Rajesh of Sinchon Prayas came third.

(2) In the 50m spoon-marble race category, Ajay of Jeevanpath-I Kendra was first, Soham of Sinchon Prayas was second and Jugna of Jeevanpath-I Kendra was third.

(3) In hit the wicket category, Ajay of Jeevanpath-1 Kendra was first, Soham of Jeevanpath-3 Kendra was second and Chotu of Jeevanpath-1 Kendra was third.

Prize Giving Ceremony

For girls between three and a half to four and a half feet six inches height:

(1) In the 50m flat race category Naina of Jeebanpath-2 Kendra was first, Kareena of Jeebanpath-1 Kendra was second and Pari of Jeebanpath-1 Kendra was third.

(2) In the 50m spoon-marble race, Anchal of Jeebanpath-2 Kendra was first, Kareena of Jeebanpath-1 Kendra was second and Ranju of Jeebanpath-1 Kendra was third.

(3) Radhika (senior) of Jeevanpath-1 Kendra was first in the throwing the ball inside bucket category, Mohini of Jeevanpath-2 Kendra was second and Lalita of Jeevanpath-1 Kendra was third.

For boys below 18 years and height above 4 feet 10 inches:

(1) Manab of Sinchon projects first in 100m flat race category, Shubhadeep (senior) of Sinchon came second and Ranjit Halder (family member of Sinchon student) came third.

(2) Sujoy of Sinchon came first in 50m single leg race, Tanmoy of Sinchon came second and Shubhadeep (Senior) of Sinchon was third.

(3) Tanmoy of Sinchon was first in hit the wicket category, Ranjit Halder (family member of Sinchon student) was second and Sujoy of Sinchon came third.

For women above 18 years:

(1) Ganga Turi, guardian of Jeevan Path-II Kendra student came first in 50 metre threading the needle race, Jayashree Adhikari, guardian of Sinchan Prayas came second and Supriya Sen, guardian of Sinchon Prayas, became third.

(2) In the musical chair category, Sinchon project students’ guardian Bani Sadhu won first place, organization member Suparna Som came second and Sinchon project students’ guardian Sarma Das came in third.

(3) Suhari Turi, the guardian of the students of Jeevan Path-2 kendra came first in hit the bucket blindfolded category, Paushali Chakraborty, the member of the organization acem second and Shiuli Bagdi, the guardian of the students of Sinchon initiative came third.

For Men above 18 years:

(1) Ganesh Bagdi, guardian of Sinchon project student came first in hit the bucket blindfolded category, Durlabh Majhi, guardian of Sinchon project student came second while Manoj Pramanik, another guardian of Sinchon project student came third.

(2) Swapan Kumar Gope, guardian of the students of Sinchan project became the first in hit the wicket category, Samiran Dutta, member of the organization, came second and Shekh Siraj, guardian the students of Sinchon project, came third.

(3) Manoj Patar, guardian of Sinchon project students came first in kicking the ball inside goal event, Rajesh Sen, member of the organization came second and Manik Bagdi, guardian of Sinchon project student came third.

Free lunch was provided to all the students and there was facility of paid lunch for members and guardians. After all the events, the prize distribution ceremony was held and it ended at 5:00 p.m.
