D.A.Y.A organized “Blood Donation Camp” on 23rd March 2019 to pay homage to Bhagat Singh, one of India’s most respected freedom fighter.
On March 23, 1931, Bhagat Singh along with his associates Sukhdev Thapar and Shivaram Rajguru were hanged to death in Lahore for their revolutionary activities against the British empire.
The story of the sacrifice of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru continue to inspire generations after generations. Durgapur Adda Young Association chose this very day to make people aware about the need of donating blood voluntarily.
Apart from D.A.Y.A members others also donated blood, which was collected by the “Durgapur Sub Division Hospital Blood Bank”.
As many as 31 people donated blood and 11 of them are women.
Family members of the students who are part of the ‘Sinchon’ project undertaken by D.A.Y.A also donated blood.
All those who donated blood were given a ‘memento’ appreciating their ‘blood donation’.
D.A.Y.A in its continuous endeavour of addressing social issues along with upliftment of the downtrodden has been undertaking several such programmes throughout the year.
