On the occasion of National Science Day on 28th February, social welfare organization Durgapur Adda Young Association (DAYA) organized an event on 29th February.
Overwhelming presence of more than four hundred people, most of whom are students, the event turned out to be a huge success. The event was organized at Bidhan Bhavan of Durgapur Steel Township.
Durgapur based social welfare organization DAYA has been trying to build a scientific rationale in the society, primarily among the young minds. For DAYA, National Science Day is of immense importance as it gives them the scope to inculcate science consciousness in the society.
In this program, Mrs. Tanushree Mukherjee, an activist of science and rationalist movement, presented the history of human evolution, starting from the creation of the world through a slide show titled “Elem ami Kothaa Thekaay?” (Where from I have evolved?). Mr. Debashis Bhattacharya, Secretary of the Indian Society of Science and Rationalism and a writer, researcher discussed on the subject of, “Reasoning & Ill Reasoning”.
The cover of the fourth issue of the organization’s mouthpiece “Roddur” was unveiled at this programme. Distinguished Orthopedic Surgeons Hon’ble Dr. Dipankar Sen and Hon’ble Mr. Debashis Bhattacharya unveiled the cover.
