DAYA News Bureau, 29th May 2023: On 27th May, Social organization Durgapur Adda Young Association organized Rabindra-Nazrul-Sukant Jayanti to remember the three stalwarts who guided the life of Bengalis as a beacon of light by their world of thought and consciousness.
The evening program was organized at Shrikrishna Community Hall near Shankarpur More, Bidhannagar. Apart from the members of the organization, around 100 people including 27 students of the ‘Sinchon’ project run by the organization along with some guest artists were present on the occasion.
Due to load shedding, the start of the program was delayed, but the hall was full till the end of the program which lasted for a little more than two and a half hours. Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, rebel poet Kazi Nazrul Islam and socialist poet Sukanta Bhattacharya are remembered with respect and love through a total of 29 presentations that includes dance, song, poetry recitation, poetry reading, audio drama and dance.
Various aspects of the life and work of these three iconic writer and thinkers who played an crucial role in the shaping up the minds of almost every Bengalees were revisited. In these days, when communal forces are on the run to divide the country on the basis of religion, the teachings of these persona is of utmost importance so as to defend any rift in the society.
