DAYA Holds Sinchon Dibos – 2019 Programme

“SinchonDibos” celebration is basically an ‘Induction Programme’ for newcomers aimed at introducing them to dignitories, well-wishers, friends and media.

“SinchonDibos” is also to celebrate the success of our project ‘SINCHON’ and showcase how the students inducted in the project is shaping up.

“SinchonDibos” also restates our commitment in inducting FIVE students in Class V, from socio-economically weaker families.

Though “SinchonDibos” is primarily about project ‘SINCHON”, it is also a platform to reinstate our commitment to the spread of science, rational thoughts and endorsing kids.

This year “SinchonDibos” programme was held in BidhanBhawan of Durgapur Steel Township on 13th January, just 7 days after the newly selected 5 students started residing at ‘Setu’ – which is our Student’s hostel.

Mr. Debasis Sinha, one of the Directors of Durgapur Project Limited was the ‘Chief Guest’ and Mr. Subhendu Mukherjee, the Principal of Bidhannagar Govt. Sponsored Boys’ High School was the ‘Guest of Honour’ at the “SinchonDibos – 2019” programme.

This year’s “SinchonDibos” programme began with a Tagore song sung by two of our members.

Apart from the 5 selected, 20 other students who cleared the ‘Written Test’ but didn’t got a chance in the final five were felicitated with gifts and certificates acknowledging their merit.

The newly selected five students were given Sweater and Sneaker apart from being honoured with certificates to acknowledge their merit. These new boys also recited two poems and enthralled the audience.

Five students of the 2018 batch, who have now been promoted to Class VI mesmerized the audience with two different performances. The first one was a Collage of Song, “EiDeshEiDesh Amar EiDesh” and lines from six different poems illustrating the uniqueness of our motherland. The second one was a Drama, “ChalaakChor”.

These five students were also been felicitated for their excellent academic result and maintaining a pleasant ambience in ‘Setu’, which is their boarding house.

Chief Guest Mr. Debasis Sinha in his speech expressed his astonishment as to how we are carrying out such a huge task without taking aid from government or corporate houses. He assured us to be by our side in times of need.

‘Guest of Honour’, Mr. Subhendu Mukherjee in his short speech reiterated his commitment of being with us all the time. Here it must be mentioned that Mr. Mukherjee has from the very first year has assured us of giving admission to all the five students selected through ‘Sinchon Project’. D.A.Y.A secretary Rajesh Sen explained as to why the organisation has undertaken the project ‘Sinchon’. He specifically thanked the parents of first batch of students for being cooperative and keeping faith on D.A.Y.A. Mr. Sen also urged people present in the auditorium to be a part of project Sinchon in every possible way.

Two of Bengal’s most well known anti-superstitious crusaders, Mr. Dipak Chakraborty and his wife Mrs. Kakali Chakraborty showcased three different experiments illustrating how we are being fooled by so caled ‘Sadhus’ and ‘Godmen’.

Mr. Gautam Dutta, one of the leading vocalist of Durgapur and the adjoining area mesmerized the audience with his songs.
