DAYA Held Anemia Diagnosis camp for Marginalised Women

DAYA News Bureau, 17th December 2022: On December 17th, social development organization Durgapur Adda Young Association (DAYA) organized an “Anemia Diagnosis” camp for the marginalized women of the area and the students of “Jeevanpath Kendra – 1” run by the organization in this area at Kamalpur Washing Plot adjacent to Durgapur Ispat Nagari. “Bengal Diabetes Foundation” played the role of facilitator in this camp.

After checking the blood hemoglobin of a total of 75 people and knowing their overall physical ailments, the two doctors present at the camp, Dr. Amitabh Biswas and Captain Dr. Abhirup Biswas prescribed the necessary medicines, which were distributed free of charge immediately.

As the area is inhabited by extremely marginalized people who do not get even a single daily meal of balanced food, all the women who came to the camp are severely anemic. The condition of two women was such that the attending doctors suggested that both of them should be admitted to hospital immediately.

Durgapur Adda Young Association has planned to set up an awareness camp in the area soon, to guide the women there as to how they can maintain a decent hemoglobin level from fairly low-priced food and naturally grown vegetables.
