DAYA News Bureau, 22nd January 2023: The social organization Durgapur Adda Young Association organized the “Sinchon Dibas – 2023” on 21st January 2022 at ‘Netaji Bhavan’ in Durgapur Steel Township to commemorate the sixth year anniversary of their indigenously carved ‘Sinchon’ project.
In the presence of more than 200 people, the program of the students of two “Jeevan Path Kendra”, being run by Durgapur Adda Young Association enthralled everyone present. Apart from the performance of 27 students of the ‘Sinchon’ project, the impressive presentation of the members of the organization captured the imagination of the audience.
Dr. Subhashis Mukhopadhyay, retired professor of Calcutta University, showcased many new ideas in his talk on alternative teaching methods by Brazilian humanist teacher and philosopher Paulo Freire. The program ended with the song of the invited music artist Sayak Mukherjee.
Gifts were handed over to the five students who got the opportunity in the ‘Sinchon’ effort in this academic year. The three people who are not members of the organization but who have extended their hand of cooperation to carry forward the ‘Sinchon’ effort were given commemorative gifts by the organization. Three supporting staffs, who have been tirelessly lending a helping attitude in carrying out the day-to-day work of the ‘Sinchon’ initiative, were also given token gifts by the organization. The presence of people till the end of the program which lasted for about three and a half hours on a winter night was a message of great inspiration.
