DAYA Celebrates Mother Language Day With 3 Separate Events

Day-long program on 21st February 2022 marks celebration of “International Mother Language Day” by social organization “Durgapur Adda Young Association”.

Students of Pathar Khadan (stone quarry) Shramik family of ‘Jibanpath Kendra-1’ run by “Durgapur Adda Young Association” were brought to Bhasha Shaheed Udyan in B-Zone of Durgapur Steel Township, where they laid wreaths at the “Bhasha Shaheed Minar” and presented a performance at the cultural event, there organized by the “Bhasha Shaheed Committee”.

Students of ‘Jeevanpath Kendra-2’ run by ‘Durgapur Adda Young Association’ at Durgapur Railway Station paid homage to the language martyrs on the occasion of ‘International Mother Language Day’ with songs and dances, the event being held in front of the Durgapur station railway advance booking counter”.

The main event of the organization was held at the hall of Bidhannagar Group Housing (Sector 2A). The ceremony began at 4:30 pm with a wreath-laying ceremony at the temporary Shaheed Bedi in front of the hall. Apart from the various cultural organizations of Durgapur, the people of the Durgapur cultural world pay their deep homage to the language martyrs with songs, words, poems and dance.

There was a wave of new ideas in the presentation of the members of “Durgapur Adda Young Association” and the students of Sinchon project. There were in fact two separate presentations by the ‘Sinchon’ boys. The program ended with a performance on stage being backed by a song and words; all by the students of ‘Sinchon’ boys.

All the invited groups and individual performers were honoured with a memento by DAYA.
