DAYA News Bureau, August 20, 2024: Social Organization Durgapur Adda Young Association (DAYA) observed a second celebration of their 10th Foundation Day and the 78th National Independence Day on 20th August 2024 at ‘Netaji Bhawan’ in Steel Township, Durgapur, with more than 200 students from 6 different schools being present.

Each of them was given a gift coupon of Rs.3500 which can be used as per their need within the next 11 months to purchase study materials from the bookstores designated by the organization. Hon’ble Mr. Diptendu Ghosh, Executive Director of Durgapur Steel Plant, conferred the certificates, gift coupons, a tree and a packet of sweets to these 12 students. The students were encouraged to collectively take an oath to positively contribute towards the spread of science-based rationalism in the society. Requested to enlighten the students with a few words, Mr. Ghosh in his brief speech urged the felicitated students and others present to do something for the society alongside their regular studies. Class V students of DAYA’s ‘Sinchan’ initiative then presented a wooden SAIL logo as a memento to Mr. Diptendu Ghosh. Importantly, this logo had been crafted by senior students of ‘Sinchan’ under the guidance of a member of the organization.
The eleventh issue of ‘Roddur’ magazine was unveiled on this occasion. Further, Mr. Rittik Raha, a member of the organization who has been researching Netaji for several years, presented various pieces of evidence during his discussion on the “Taihoku Plane Crash and the Mystery of Netaji’s Disappearance.” He demonstrated that there is significant doubt about whether the Taihoku plane crash even occurred, and even if it did, Netaji was not likely killed in it. Additionally, he presented various videos, letters, and circumstantial evidence to show that Gumnami Baba (Bhagwanji) of Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh, was most likely Netaji. This one-hour presentation was so captivating that everyone sat in almost a trance-like state.
The organization’s secretary, Rajesh Sen, spoke about the dire situation of the citizens of an independent country and emphasized the need to educate the next generation, inspiring them to become rational individuals with a scientific mindset.
At the end of the event, everyone was bid farewell through refreshments arranged by the organization.
