Durgapur Adda Young Association celebrates Language Martyr’s Day (Bhasha Shohid Dibos) on 21st February 2020 (Friday). A morning ferry was organized from Chandidas Bazar in Durgapur to B-Zone Park (Bhasha Shahid Udyan) in Durgapur Steel City. Members of the organization, common people, 15 students of the organization’s “Sinchon” project and their family members took part. During the 4 km long morning ferry, the language martyrs were remembered in a respectful manner through songs, words and poems.
Then at Bahasa Shaheed Udyan, the students of the Sinchon Project performed “Ekusher Kahini” through a song and illustration. The function was organized by the Language Memorial Committee. People present at Bahasa Shaheed Udyan were spellbound by the presentation of the students of ‘Sinchon’ project.
Here it must be mentioned that through this Sinchon Project, Durgapur Adda Young Association has been taking all the responsibilities (schooling, accommodation, food, study, clothing, sports, etc.) of 5 meritorious students of class V, from socio-economically weaker families and will continue to their responsibilities till they pass out class XII.
