DAYA News Bureau, August 15, 2024: On August 15, 2024 social organization Durgapur Adda Young Association (DAYA) celebrated the twin occasion of the nation’s 78th Independence Day and the organization’s 10th Foundation Day on August 15 with a special itinerary of myriad programmes.
The National Flag was hoisted at Jeevanpath Centre-1 run by Durgapur Adda Young Association at Kamalpur Washing Plot. The flag was hoisted by Nako Kumari, a specially-abled woman residing in the vicinity.
Songs and poetries being the all-time language for expressing any ideas and thoughts in a simple way, the students of Jeevanpath-1 highlighted the theme of ‘Dreams of a Changed Time’ by singing such three songs. The marvelous presentation of these students cannot be ignored by one. Three tutors (শিক্ষাবন্ধু) associated with this Jeevanpath center also shared their individual experiences of imparting practical life lessons as a part of this project.
Following the events of flag hoisting and practical life speeches, DAYA members stepped into another social welfare as part of a one-time effort, the keys of a new residential setup were handed over to a poor old lady living near the Centre. A month ago, upon learning about the poor condition of this old lady, Durgapur Adda Young Association had decided to build a home for her. Accordingly a new house was built for her, and the keys were handed over to her by the two vice-presidents of the organization, Hon’ble Shri Arup Ranjan Sinha and Hon’ble Shri Kalyan Dutta.
Finally, like all the previous years, DAYA distributed clothes that are old/used but in good condition among more than 150 people in three tribal neighborhoods of Bashia village adjacent to Nachan Dam.
Its utmost important to highlight the meaning of freedom in the present days. Through the day’s programme, the organization attempted to bring out an irony: what a sorry state of freedom we are inhabiting!
