The programme was held on the rooftop of our students’ boarding, Setu, at 12/13 Saptarshi Park in Bidhannagar of Durgapur.
The entire programme was hosted by the five students, whose entire responsibilities have been taken by D.A.Y.A as a part of the project ‘Sinchon’.
These five students together performed on stage, the famous Rabindranath Tagore poem ‘Birpurush’. Individually also each of them recited poems of Rabindra Nath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam.

Residents of the locality were invited to be a part of the whole programme. Several children residing in the locality remembered Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore and Firebrand poet Kazi Nazrul Islam by reciting their poems, singing their songs and dancing to their tunes.
Some of our members of DAYA also performed poems and songs of Rabindranath and Nazrul to pay their respect, love and affection for these two Bengal icons for whom every Bengali are proud of.
But the highlight of the evening was a ‘Question Answer Session’ so as to bring out the commonness of thoughts between Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam. There was instant award for those who gave correct answer. The ‘Question Answer Session’ was not to judge as to how much we know about these two icons but to inculcate their thoughts and break the myth that there was a sense of competition between these two stalwarts.
