Rasunkur Village was selected primarily because residents of these village are either descendants of leprosy affected families or are themselves survivals of leprosy.

At the very onset, the ‘Tricolour’ was hoisted by Durgapur Adda president Dr. Samir RanjanBhowmik and national anthem was sung.

New clothes were distributed among all the children of the village. Old aged females were given new saris as well. Food packets containing Puri, Potato curry and sweets were distributed among all the villagers.
